Good to know
- Your student dashboard is the first page you will see each time you log in to your Saylor Academy account.
- Only courses you are currently enrolled in will appear on your student dashboard.
- You can return to your dashboard anytime using the My Dashboard link in the main navigation menu.
Manage your course dashboard
Add courses
- If your dashboard does not show any courses, be sure you have enrolled in at least one course.
Control course visibility
By default, your dashboard will show all your enrolled courses, except any that you have removed from view.
Alternatively, you can choose to show only courses that are:
- In progress – courses for which you have not yet completed the final exam or earned a certificate
- Completed – courses for which you have passed the final exam and earned your certificate
- Starred - courses that you have starred (see below)
- Removed from view - courses that you have hidden from all other views (see below)
Starring one or more courses is a good way to focus your study, if you are enrolled in a larger number of courses.
Hiding a course by removing it from view is a good way to put aside a course that you want to remain enrolled in, but won't be engaging with for a while.
To star a course or hide it from most views, click on the "three-dots" menu icon near the course title, and select either "Star this course" or "Remove from view":
Note that if a course is both starred and removed from view, it will not appear in the Starred view, only in the Removed view.
Click the three-dots menu of a starred or removed course to undo the action(s).
Change the order of display
You can choose to display your courses by Course name (i.e. in alphabetical order) or by Last accessed, which will show your most recent courses at the top.
Change how the courses are presented
Courses can be display in Card format (a large rectangular tile), as a List with some additional details, or as a Summary, which acts as a combination card and list.
Some view are more convenient than others on certain devices, screen sizes, etc. – it all comes down to your own preference.
