The Saylor Academy bookshelf offers textbooks in various formats.
When possible, publisher, author, and other copyright/citation information is included within the textbook.
Most of these books are provided without author and publisher attribution, which has been done at the request of the original publisher.
Please note that supplemental resources (slides, questions banks, etc.) and hard copies are not available from Saylor Academy. Materials referenced within some of the textbooks, including videos, question banks, etc. may be unavailable except through purchase/license from the original publisher.
Textbooks on the Saylor Academy bookshelf that are provided without author/publisher attribution were all acquired in late 2012. Before that time, these textbooks were free to read online and offered under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. In 2012, the publisher announced that these textbooks would soon no longer be available to read online for free.
Under the CC BY-NC-SA license, Saylor Academy and others then produced copies of these books, which are available from our bookshelf page and elsewehre. The original publisher and/or the authors retain copyright over each book and updated/revised versions remain available for purchase in digital or hard copy formats from the publisher.
Citation of unattributed textbooks
Most unattributed textbooks have a licensing and citation page in the HTML versions listed at www.saylor.org/books -- typically, these pages list Saylor Academy as the publisher and 2012 as the year of publication.
MLA, APA, and other common formats provide information on how to cite works with no author given.
