You must take a proctored exam* to obtain an official printed transcript.
The steps for having your paper transcript sent to your school differ based on whether your course is recommended by NCCRS** or by ACE; see the Transcripts section of our college credit guide for complete details.
Remember that Saylor Academy is not an accredited institution and our transcripts are not statements of credit -- except where specifically noted for our partner programs and partner schools, we do not have credit recognition agreements with other institutions. You should always check with your school to learn whether and how you may be able to receive college credit for your work at Saylor Academy.
Via Saylor Academy:
Complete the online transcript request form, paying attention to the notes, where applicable
Via ACE CREDIT:
Request your transcript via the ACE CREDIT Transcript Service website. You will be able to choose whether to send your transcript by mail or electronically.
*A full list of available proctored exams is here. Note that not all courses with proctored exams have been recommended for college credit.
** We usually process and mail transcripts requested via Saylor Academy on Tuesday and Friday. First class mail usually takes 2-3 days to reach a US destination from Washington, DC. Depending on when you submit your request, please plan for up to 7 days for your school to receive your transcript. Note, too, that it may take time for the recipient school to process the transcript as well.
For transcripts that we process, we ask for basic identity confirmation of either the last four digits of a social security number or date of birth. For date of birth, we also request verifying documentation. We use a service called SendSafely that encrypts your files as you upload them and makes them available in unencrypted form only to Saylor Academy. Sending an attachment by our contact form or via this page will deliver your files via SendSafely.
